Where does the problem start? With the design.

Most traditional glasses place nearly all of their weight on just two points: the nose pads. Two tiny elements that support the entire frame for hours. The result is inevitable: pressure, irritation, tension.

And the funny thing is that in many cases the heaviest models are not the most annoying. Poorly balanced glasses weighing 20 grams can be much more uncomfortable than well-designed glasses weighing 30 grams. Weight isn’t the real problem. The centre of gravity is.

Every Spectaful frame is designed to distribute weight evenly between nose, lenses and arms. No pressure points.

We use techno polymer, steel and acetate to reduce the weight at source. We then redesign the nose bridge, making it wider and softer, to distribute pressure rather than concentrating it. Finally, we calibrate the centre of gravity of each frame to ensure that the weight won’t bear down on a single point.

The result is a pair of glasses that you wear, not bear.
